A look at DNCB's costume designer for the upcoming ballet, Kaguya-Hime:
Working with Art Director, Gregory Ruppe, Kennetha Woods is preparing to give classical ballet a fresh look.
"Design for me has always been a captivating pursuit; to create ideas from imagination and bestow specific aesthetic and functional qualities provides an enthralling challenge.I acquire a very pragmatic, yet an inventive oversight to
design with a staunch belief that nothing is ever impossible. Graduating with a Fashion Body and Garment Post-Baccalaureate from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a BFA in Sculpture from Texas Christian University; my personal endeavor has been to continuously explore the possibilities of merging sculpture and fashion as an iconically fashionable art form. As an artist and designer, my ultimate goalis to manufacture a design that is inspiringly unique and novel."
