DGDG (Danielle Georgiou Dance Group) will be presenting original choreography by founder, Danielle Georgiou, during the second act of
the ballet. The choreography is heavily influenced by the traditional style of Butoh Dance, an avant garde performance art originating in Japan in the early 1960s.
Georgiou, along with DGDG dancers Delaney Como, Nanci Mendoza,
and Jana Duplechin, will represent the people of the moon in Kagyua-Hime.
DGDG combines dance, theatre, and film to create interactive performance pieces, while playing with abstractions of traditional narratives.
Based on the idea that collaboration generates creativity, DGDG is an entirely collective process with all the work being created by both Georgiou and the dancers.
